Free Tax Preparation Campaign in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania
WELCOME BACK, RETURNING VOLUNTEERS!
VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION FOR RETURNING VOLUNTEERS BEGINS MONDAY, OCTOBER 20.
NEW VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION BEGINS NOVEMBER 3.
Welcome to the United Way/Money In Your Pocket Coalition's Volunteer Events Hub! Here you can register and sign up to volunteer as a tax preparer at one of our free tax sites.
Last year, more than 200 IRS-certified volunteers from all walks of life prepared more than 6,600 tax returns and delivered $11 million in refunds back to local residents, including $4.8 million in Earned Income Tax Credits.
Trained volunteer tax preparers commit to 3 or more hours each week during tax season. Most tax sites open in mid-January and close in mid-April. We request that you commit to the same day and time for the entire tax season.
We provide free tax and software training for all new and returning volunteers. Volunteer training will be held in December/January. Training requirements vary by your level of experience and your tax site's requirements. After training, you must pass an IRS certification exam. Tests are untimed and open book.
After you register, we will contact you with detailed information about your volunteer training plan.

Please email email@example.com if you have questions or need additional assistance with registering as a volunteer.
